Disinfect your Cell Phone

Our phones are always by our side, they follow us everywhere we go - even the bathroom. It is important, especially right now that we are mindful that we keep our phones clean. Here is an easy step by step guide on how to clean your phone.

Step 1: Unplug all peripherals and take the case off

It is important to get your cell phone as "naked" as possible. This includes unplugging things like headphones, charging cables and removing the protective case. If you can, replace your screen protector as well.

Step 2: Turn your cellphone off

Turn the power off on your cell phone. This will ensure that you can thoroughly clean your cell phone without worry of pressing buttons or making calls.

Step 3: Make a disinfecting solution

In a small spray bottle, mix a 50/50 mix of distilled water and 70% isopropyl alcohol. It is important to use distilled water, especially if you live in an area with hard water, or water with a lot of mineral content.

Step 4: Spray your microfiber cloth

Lightly spray a portion of your microfiber cloth, making it moist, but not wet.

Step 5: Wipe down all large areas of you phone

Wipe down the screen, the back, and sides of your phone. Making sure to go in the same direction. If your cloth gets too dry, repeat step 4.

Step 6: Clean the smaller parts

Using a cotton swab moistened by your solution, wipe down the areas like buttons, and ports removing any grime and dirt. Afterwards, wipe down again with a clean dry swab.

Step 7: Clean your case

Depending on the material your case is made of will depend on how you clean it. If your case is plastic, you can wash it in soapy water, making sure to rinse it thoroughly afterwards. If your case is made of leather, follow the manufacture's instructions.

Step 8: Let the phone air dry

After your phone is clean, let it all air dry for at least half an hour. Make sure the phone is completely dry before putting the case back on.
